Our Beliefs

We believe in one God manifested in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father, the Creator, who is Spirit.  He is everywhere.  He knows all things. He is all powerful.  He is everlasting.  All creation exists for His glory and pleasure.

We believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, God the Savior, who is one with the Father.  He came down from heaven to reconcile us to God through salvation.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and lived a perfect life.  He was crucified, dying for our sins, was buried, raised bodily on the third day, and ascended into heaven.  The Lord Jesus Christ right now sits at the right hand of the Father, having received all authority and is Lord of all.  He lives within all believers.  He shall come again to judge the living and the dead.  His Kingdom shall never end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is equal with the Father and the Son.  He is the One who lives in and controls the life of the committed believer.  He teaches us all things, comforts us, convicts us of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and causes us to be a united people.  He is the author and interpreter of the Holy Scriptures, revealer of our Lord, and the One who gives us all the things of God.

We believe in the church which is the Body of Christ, and the uniting of all people chosen, called and justified by God.

We believe in the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, authored by the Holy Spirit through men.

We believe that the Christian life is summed up in these two commandments:  “The foremost is, ‘Hear, oh Israel: the Lord thy God is One Lord and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:29-31
